Basestations
There are two main types of Basestations: -
1) A fixed mobile or sometimes refered to as 'Dispatcher'
This improves radio coverage for all calls originating from base to mobiles and from mobiles to base, does not improve communication range between mobiles to mobiles.
2) A repeater basestation or as sometimes refered to a 'Talk Through Base' or 'A Radio Relay Station'
This device when installed in an optimum location will enhance and extend radio coverage for all radio calls between mobiles to mobiles, base to mobiles and mobiles to base. Even a fixed mobile (Dispatcher) can be integrated into the system to permitt remote monitoring or controlling of system.
